After Philippines goverment order of Lock Down"
Dear Valued Customers,
HMM would like to provide an update on the Reefer operation in Manila Philippines. After Philippines government order of ‘Lock Down’, all logistical activities have not been well operated, and importers are not able to pick up their containers in ports. HMM has been noticed by terminal operators that very limited yard plugs will be assigned for each carriers and it is not possible to accept all in-bound reefer shipments. Therefore, it is highly recommended for customers who has regular business to Manila Philippines to check current situation of your partner or agent as consignee.
- From now on, HMM does not carry out services with any guarantee of transit time to Manila Philippines about all shipment, in-transit or new bookings. Containers might be discharged on unexpected ports or idled longer at a designated transshipment location. Surely HMM will try to accommodate shipments with all capacity as a bona-fide service provider. All routes might be replaced with the best option among given ones at each moment and unexpected transshipment may be arranged until Manila ports accept reefer container discharging.
- Regarding in-transit cargo, it is inevitable to have costs related with this congestion and HMM will impose certain amount to cover it, in accordance with HMM B/L terms and conditions. Please note that Clause 5-(D), as well as Clauses 7 and 21, is applicable to the current situation. Also, if any customer finds a new country to divert instead of Philippines, HMM will arrange change of destination for customers who wish to do so.
- To support sustainable services to Manila Philippines, HMM will apply Reefer Congestion Surcharge for all refrigerated cargos heading to the Manila with immediate effective from all origins. For regulated corridors, Congestion Surcharge will be effective after regulated period and be updated by HMM local offices.
