History since 1946

history1
Shortly after the Second World War, in the year 1946. Oskar Brunoni founded his own company, to represent foreign shipping lines in Switzerland. Already in the earliest years of his firm, O.Brunoni was entrusted with the representation of well-established liner companies: Mitsui Lines of Japan and Johnson Line of Sweden. These widely known shipowners with a large fleet of Vessels and an extensive network of liner trades, chose O. Brunoni as their representative in Switzerland.

history2
In the early 70ies, the liner shipping industry was characterized by a technical revolution: the first container vessel started navigating the Atlantic Ocean. The decade of the box ships had begun and only ten years later, this new form of shipping dominated the large trade lanes between Europe, the U.S.A. and Asia. Shipping from Europe to the southern hemisphere, however, remained the domain of the conventional cargo vessel for some years to come and it was this trade that O. Brunoni concentrated upon until his death in 1977.

history3
Today, more than 70 years after foundation, O.Brunoni S.A. is a well-established shipping-agency, representing a wide range of first class shipping lines, that sail to all continents around the globe and cater for containerized and uncontainerized cargo alike.

history4
Brunoni is the largest, independent liner agency in Switzerland, enjoys an excellent reputation. The name Brunoni is well accepted in the market and stands for quality, flexibility and competitiveness.
