O. Brunoni S.A. has prepared itself for the emergency
Dear Customers and Partners,
At O. Brunoni S.A., we take our responsibility for the safety and well-being of our employees, partners, suppliers and customers very seriously. We also recognize that our employees' efforts are an essential part of our ability to serve our global customer base.
In view of the current situation and the spread of the coronavirus, the Federal Council has categorized the situation in Switzerland as special in terms of the Epidemics Act.
Switzerland’s Epidemics Act distinguishes between three different situations: normal, special and exceptional. In view of the current circumstances and the spread of the coronavirus, the Federal Council has declared that a special situation exists.
Under this category it has the competence to take decisions on matters that would normally be in the remit of the cantons. One such measure is to ban events. The Federal Council is aware that this measure will have a significant impact on public life in Switzerland. However, in doing so the aim is to protect people in Switzerland from the new coronavirus and delay the spread of the disease. The Federal Council has decided that in the case of events attended by fewer than 1000 people, the competence to decide whether or not to allow an event to take place should rest with the cantons.
As of 5 March, 2020: over 95'000 people are confirmed to have been infected by the new coronavirus. This, in over 70 countries. All travellers are therefore strongly advised to inform themselves about the local situation.
Based on recent development in Switzerland (114 total cases), O. Brunoni S.A. has prepared itself for the emergency in case that Federal Council will take additional measures. As a preventive measure against the spread of novel coronavirus, we have decided to reduce the number of employees in the office by working partly from home.
We will keep monitoring the situation and we will continue to provide updates in the event of any changes to the current situation.
