Change in Europe - Middle East & India Service
Dear Valued Customer,
Due to COVID19, demand has notably decreased both east and westbound. In order to balance out the supply and demand, multiple sailings have been blanked. This has resulted in an unacceptable deterioration in schedule reliability and uncertainty along your Supply Chain.
In order to return the quality and resilience of the product offered to you, whilst still recognizing the lower demand in the market, we have decided to terminate our EPIC service, but continue to provide you coverage for Europe to Middle East & Indian Sub-Continent through our existing NERA service network.
What exactly is changing?
-
Structural reorganization of complete Europe to/from Middle East network
-
Termination of EPIC service
-
NERA1 & NERA4 will cater for the connection from and to Middle East
-
Reliable Feeder network within Middle East and India
-
Salalah (e/b) and Colombo (w/b) will be used as hubs
-
ME6 coverage within the Arabian Gulf to be extended
What does it mean for you?
-
Improved Supply Chain predictability
-
Improved schedule reliability and delivery in time
-
No more ad-hoc blank sailings
-
Competitive transit times to be offered also in future
The last eastbound EPIC voyage will be the Maersk Serangoon sailing from Rotterdam on 07. September 2020. The final direct westbound voyage will also be the Maersk Serangoon sailing from Nhava Sheva on 02. October 2020.
As always, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for supporting Hamburg Sud during these challenging times and we look forward to the privilege of serving you for many years to come.
Thank you for your understanding. If you have any question, please feel free to
